Acceptance
By creating an account or using Slate, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to use Slate in your region. Users under 13 need verifiable parental consent (see the COPPA notice).
Your account
Keep your login secure and your information accurate. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Prices, cycles, and cancellation are described on the Pricing page and in Settings. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
Your use is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy. Do not misuse the service, other users, or our systems.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you create. You grant Slate the limited license needed to host, display, and back up your content so the service works. We may remove content that breaks our rules.
Our intellectual property
Slate, its software, and its brand are ours. You may not copy or resell them.
Disclaimers
Learning content is provided as is, for educational purposes. Slate does not guarantee outcomes and is not medical, legal, or financial advice. AI can be wrong; verify important information.
Limitation of liability and indemnification
To the extent the law allows, Slate is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and you agree to cover claims arising from your misuse of the service.
Termination
You can stop using Slate any time. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes are resolved as described here, with a small-claims option preserved.
Changes
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a date.
